This was a play on the light coming through the clouds. The painting almost suggests dusk however, this was inspired by a photo take around 1pm. I liked the size of this canvas.
The autumn afternoons in Texas hill country contain beautiful storm clouds, and the hints of yellow, orange, and red promise cooler weather...I strive to capture this season.
This was a fun painting to do. I love the reflective quality of the river, the beautiful clouds, and the muted colors. It captured all that fall in Texas brings.
It's been a while since my last post...but I'm getting back into the painting swing of things. I have a few larger paintings to post...and my small ones are still my daily goal.
I am loving all the color that San Antonio provides every sunset and sunrise. My husband sent me the photo reference for this painting...since I'm not that early of a riser. Lately I've been gravitating back to the "Above the Clouds" theme. This size canvas was fun to work with too.
There were beautiful cumulus clouds forming over a huge texas hay field late afternoon...I did this quick study...I am playing catch up on my blog. My computer has been down but there are more paintings to come.
The girls and I love feeding the ducks and geese at this little city park in Converse. This was done from a fall photo, infused with my impressionistic interpretation.
Lately I've been exploring impressionism, as well as playing with the tactical expression of paint...I feel somewhat tired of rendering, even from live subjects. I'm now at a place to start accomplishing a "daily painting".
